Why Agriculture is in loss in Pakistan
Pakistan is a country with full of agricultural resources. Pakistan's main economy depends upon Agriculture sector. Although Pakistan is making progress in farming but, there are also some practices, which are failing agriculture in Pakistan.According to Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Pakistan losses Pakistan Loses Rs. 55 Billions in Agriculture Sector Per Year (2017).
There are many reasons behind this. here we are discussing some of the top reasons.
Construction of Residential Areas / Towns
Construction of new towns and residential colonies on agricultural land is one of the main reason of agriculture loss.Agricultural land is reducing day by day because many land lords are selling or converting there land into new towns like Bahria town, Model town etc etc.
Land lords knows that they can buy agricultural land in cheap rates and then they sell them as a residential land. which give them more profit.

Increasing Salinity level in Pakistan
Salinity is becoming a big problem for Pakistani agriculture system, according to a report in 2017, 5.33 Million hectare area is affected by salinity.
Salinity causing loss of agriculture land because growth of crops is severely effected by salinity level.
Government of Pakistan is not taking that much interest in solving these issues.
UN Food and Agriculture Organization (UNFAO) suggested that saline soils can be reclaimed by doing proper land preparation.
Failure of Government policies
One of the main hurdle in development in agriculture sector is Government policies. Government is not setting up good policies which are beneficial for both farmers and consumers, instead some of the policies are very bad that it makes many farmers to sale their lands.Irrigation System
Irrigation water is necessary for crops growth because whole country cannot depend on rain fed areas growth. Water issue is continuously increasing in Pakistan because of the relation with Indian Government. In Pakistan, water in our rivers is mainly coming from India and they are making DAMS to stop the water for Pakistanis.
Irrigation system is designed in Pakistan which allows the farmers to use canal water but that is not enough for proper production. Water is available for only few hours 3 - 4 in a week, which is not enough for crops.
